Apple Pie recipe

Ingredients

  • 600 g apples
  • 150 g butter
  • 2 dl brown sugar
  • 0.5 dl syrup candle
  • 0.5 dl cream
  • 3 dl oats
  • 1.5 dl flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp flake salt
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. Set the oven to 400°F/200°C.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium sized Dutch oven with the sugar, syrup, and cream.
  3. In a bowl, mix oats, flour, cinnamon, ginger, flake salt, and baking powder. Then stir it into the pot.
  4. Core and cut the apples into wedges. Place them in a greased 10" cast iron skillet or an enameled roasting pan. Spread the batter on top of the apples.
  5. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes, until the pie is golden brown.
  6. Serve with lightly whipped cream or vanilla sauce and coffee.
