Homemade Sourdough Sandwich with Sliced Hot Dog, Fried Egg & Homemade Beetroot Salad

Sourdough Sandwich with Hot Dog, Fried Egg & Beetroot Salad Recipe

This bold, satisfying sandwich brings together the rich flavor of butter-fried hot dogs, a silky fried egg, and a cool, tangy homemade beetroot salad. All stacked on rustic sourdough with crisp lettuce—it’s comfort food with a Scandinavian twist.

Ingredients (makes 1 sandwich)

  • 1 slices sourdough bread, toasted or grilled

  • 1 hot dog, sliced

  • 1 egg

  • 1 small knob of butter

  • 1 salad leaf

  • 3–4 tbsp Homemade Beetroot Salad

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Equipment

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread: Lightly toast or grill your sourdough slices until golden and crisp.

  2. Fry the hot dogs: Slice the hot dogs lengthwise and fry them in butter over medium heat until they’re golden and slightly crisp on the edges.

  3. Fry the egg: In the same pan, crack an egg and fry it to your liking (sunny-side up or over-easy both work well). Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Assemble the sandwich:

    • Place the salad leaf on the bottom sourdough slice.

    • Layer the hot dog slices on top.

    • Add the fried egg.

    • Spoon over a few generous dollops of beetroot salad.

  5. Top with the fresh chopped parsley
