Nettle Pesto

Nettle Pesto Recipe


  • 2 cups fresh nettle leaves 
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts



  1. In a pot or Dutch oven over high heat, blanch the nettle leves for a minute. 
  2. Remove as much water as possible from the leaves by straining trough a sieve.
  3. Blend all ingredients until smooth with a mortar and pestle or in a food processor.
  4. Spread on a slice of bread or serve with for example pasta.
