Great for making rustic bread rounds!
This is my first cast iron camp Dutch oven, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the exceptional quality and workmanship. The instruction manual was very specific that seasoning prior to its first use was necessary to prevent food from sticking. The more you season it, the better the results. The only issue I have is the manual font is incredibly small. Taking a picture with my phone and expanding the image allowed me to read the directions. I mainly wanted it to bake rustic and sour dough breads and my first attempt at the rosemary round came out perfectly! This cast iron Dutch oven is a game changer in making perfect bread rounds. Initially I looked at Lodge cast iron Dutch ovens, but they did not offer a flat lid without legs. That flat lid accommodates hot campfire coals which will enable us to bake bread when we’re out camping in the wilds. Flip the lid over and put it on the lid stand to use as a small griddle. Such a versatile pot! I’m happy I made this purchase for home use and camping expeditions.
