- 500 grams crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- black pepper
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 6 leaves of fresh basil

- In a Dutch oven over medium heat, add olive oil and the onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and basil, and cook for 15 minutes with a cover on. Stir occasionally.
