Apple Pie

Ingredients
- 600 g apples
- 150 g butter
- 2 dl brown sugar
- 0.5 dl syrup candle
- 0.5 dl cream
- 3 dl oats
- 1.5 dl flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp flake salt
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
Equipment
Instructions
- Set the oven to 400°F/200°C.
- Melt the butter in a medium sized Dutch oven with the sugar, syrup, and cream.
- In a bowl, mix oats, flour, cinnamon, ginger, flake salt, and baking powder. Then stir it into the pot.
- Core and cut the apples into wedges. Place them in a greased 10" cast iron skillet or an enameled roasting pan. Spread the batter on top of the apples.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for about 30 minutes, until the pie is golden brown.
- Serve with lightly whipped cream or vanilla sauce and coffee.
