Butter, Cardamom and Vanilla Rolls
20 - 24 rolls
Ingredients
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 100 g butter, room temperature
- 3 dl milk
- 9 dl flour
- 1 dl sugar
- 1/2 tbsp ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp salt
Filling
- 150 g butter, room temperature
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 dl sugar
Topping
- 1 egg
- pearl sugar
Equipment
- Cast Iron Pizza/Baking Pan
- Stand mixer
Instructions
- Crumb the yeast in a bowl for a stand mixer. Add milk and stir until the yeast has dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients and mix for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky. Let the dough rest for 1-2 hours covered with a kitchen towel.
- For the filling, mix all ingredients.
- Place the dough on a floured surface. Roll it out to a 30 - 40 cm rectangle and spread the filling evenly on the dough.
- Starting on the longest side, roll the dough into a roll. Cut 20 - 24 rolls and place on a baking pan. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest in room temperature for 1-2 or until doubled in size.
- Set the oven to 225°C/435°F. Brush the rolls with beaten egg and top with pearl sugar.
- Bake in the oven for about 12 minutes until golden.
