Butter Basted Pepper Steak with Fried Raw Potatoes and Red Wine Whiskey Sauce
Ingredients
- Pepper steaks
- Potatoes
- Red Wine Whiskey Sauce
- Butter
- Garlic
- Fresh thyme and/or rosemary (optional)

- Slice the potatoes with a mandoline.
- In a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, fry the sliced potatoes in cooking oil for a few minutes on each side until golden. Remove from the heat.
- Remove as much liquid as possible from the steaks with a paper towel. Season the steak with salt and pepper. In a cast iron skillet over high heat, add 1 - 2 steaks at a time and cook for 90 seconds, then flip the steaks. Add butter, garlic (crush first), and herbs (optional). When the butter has melted, baste the steak with a spoon for about a minute.
- Serve with fried potatoes, red wine whiskey sauce, and a salad.
