I purchased this for my sister because she more often than not touched the handle while hot. It’s a very snug fit so taking the silicone holder on and off is a bit of a chore. But it needs to be because the cast iron pan is heavy empty more so with food when lifted. This way there’s so slippage. I suggested leaving it on all the time. Even so, no burned fingers or hand since she began using it. In my opinion there’s more security lifting the pan with a silicone handle than with any type of pot holder.”

I think this Silicone Hot Handle Holder works just great on cast iron cookware. I have several different skillets of different sizes from a variety of manufacturers... A couple of these skillets are quite old, passed down in my family. This universal handle holder fits all of them just right. Easily removed, I usually just slide the handle holder on and off when I need to move the skillet while cooking. This keeps the holder from warming up too much.
