Dutch baby in cast iron skillet
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter


1. Preheat oven to 425°F/220°C.

2. Mix eggs, flour, milk and sugar in a mixer or by hand and blend until smooth. 

3. Heat a 10" cast iron skillet and melt the butter, then add the batter to the pan.

4. Insert the skillet into the oven and bake for 20 minutes, until the Dutch baby is puffed and golden. Lower oven temperature to 300°F/150°C  and bake five more minutes.

5. Add powdered sugar or topping of your choice.
